Locals don’t and can’t even drive thtough town because of the tourists with the “ME! ME! ME!” attitudes, taking selfies in the middle of crosswalks (if they even use them) and having their dogs mess all over. Kennebunkport is still charming, but the ridiculous tourists have ruined the true fishing town Kennebunkport used to be. As a resident, I can tell you that the TRUE year round residents really hate this time of year. That’s probably a good thing considering how many vehicles and tourists it supports each year.Īt the Kennebunk end of the bridge is The Clam Shack, one of the most popular and praised spots in Maine for fried clams and lobster rolls, but (alas) it closes each year for the winter.
